Telesto has developed a next generation water mist technology for use in hand portable fire extinguishers that extinguishes all common classes of fires: ordinary combustibles (Class A), flammable liquids and gases (Class B), electrical devices (US Class C) and cooking oils (EN3 Class F and US UL Class K). This “next generation” T-Rotor Technology®, which consists of a proprietary nozzle and phase regulator (patents pending), can be incorporated with any manufacturer’s cylinder and valve, either stored pressure or cartridge. It produces an ultrafine mist with droplets averaging 60 microns average diameter and features a range up to 4 meters (12 feet). Extinguisher capacities are possible between 1 liter and 9.4 liters (2.5 gallons). Telesto partners in Europe and Asia have certified extinguishers with official authorities at levels up to EN3 13A, 21B and 75F. Internal tests show certification according to UL ANSI 711 will be possible up to 2-A, 5-B, C, and K ratings.

In comparison, water mist technologies on the market today of comparable form factor feature much large droplet sizes and are rated solely for Class A ordinary combustible (EN3 13A and UL 2-A) and electrical devices.
